Seufert has acted for Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe (MVB) in its procurement process for new low-floor trams. On 30 June 2021, Bombardier Transportation GmbH – a company of the Alstom Group – was awarded the contract which includes supplying new Flexity Trams, their maintenance and spare parts for at least 24 years. The first order for 35 vehicles including maintenance was placed immediately. The total value of that order runs to about 190 million Euro. The State of Sachsen-Anhalt provides a subsidy of almost 60 million Euro for the purchase of the new vehicles.
This is the fifth of projects, together amounting to over 500 million Euro, in which Dr. Christoph Seebo and his team have, since 2014, comprehensively advised sectoral contractors on the procurement or reconditioning of trams.
